Producing slag cements by separate grinding and subsequent mixing at the Karlstadt works
The method of producing slag cements at the Karlstadt cement works was changed from intergrinding of clinker and granulated blastfurnace slag to separate grinding of the components followed by mixing. The process, operating results, and influence of the change in process on the cement and concrete properties are described. [7 pages, 668 kB, PDF]

Modeling and measuring the structure and properties of cement-based materials
An electronic monograph, a 2,600-page Web-based "book", organized into sections on various aspects of the science of cement-based and cement-related materials. It contains amny of the papers and research reports published by the BFRL since 1990 and it grows as new information becomes available.

Investigations into the standardization, selection and placement of cements for deep boreholes in North Germany
A description is given of some project-related investigations for determining the optimum cementation system for salt-containing formations, for thermal treatment and in the presence of corrosion stresses in deep boreholes. [7 pages, 740 kB, PDF]
